Arlington Easter Pilgrimage
We may still be in the firm grasp of Winter but plans are being put together for our annual Easter Sunrise service at the George Washington National Masonic Memorial at Alexandria, Virginia. The general itinerary will be departure from various points in Kentucky during the night of Thursday, April 18th, arrival in Alexandria on Friday, April 19th, late morning, with the rest of Friday on your own. On Saturday we will tour the DC area by bus, with an experienced guide to show the sights. We plan to continue the tradition of a State Dinner on Saturday evening (Dutch Treat). On Sunday, the Sunrise Service, breakfast and depart for Kentucky, to arrive at about 10pm on Easter Sunday.
Make reservations now for this annual event -$149 per person, double
occupancy, $249 per person, single, which covers transportation and lodging
at a comfortable hotel, conveniently located. Reservations should be made
with G. Michael Miller, Sr., PGC, 329 South Sherrin Avenue Louisville KY.
40207-3815, no later than March 31st, 2003. Please make checks payable
to the Grand Commandery of Kentucky.
The purpose of the pilgrimage is the march, by uniformed, armed knights,
up the hill to the Memorial on Sunday morning. It would be nice to have a
full complement of Sir Knights marching, with their ladies observing from
the stands at the top of the hill. If you plan to make the trip with us, plan
to bring your uniform, sword and chapeau to take part in this memorable, beautiful event, one of the last great Masonic Pageants.
